22.07.2006 or "Plotholes of the Carribbean"
Just a short one today cause Its later than usual. I spent the daytime working more on my School stuff. In the afternoon, we headed of to a place called Tiger City, a type of all singing all dancing enclosure of shops restraunts and cinemas about a 20 minute drive away. I ate at a place called Chilli's which I think is an American chain of restraunts, where I had fajitas and a chocolate milkshake. I found an arcade which had three Taiko no Tatsujin machines, 6, 7 and 8. I played a couple rounds of each but I really was not on form, I felt like my arms were ignoring all the messages my brain was sending them and I ended up just pointlessly whacking the drums with all my might and missing half of the notes.
Went to see Pirates of the Carribean and I felt like I was forcing myself to enjoy it rather than face the concept of being bored and trapped in a darkend cinema for two and a half hours. I know for a fact I could not have watched it all the way through had I not seen it at the cinema. To paraphrase someone else, it was like they had five scripts, loaded them all into a shotgun and fired them out into the ocean and then hired someone to pick up random pieces and make a script out of them. Once again, the only reason to even think about watching this franchise, thats right, theres going to be another one, is good old Mr Depp and you get the impression even he was bored. I wasnt the worst film I have seen in the cinema since the scale was suitably grand, but its probably one of the most pointless. If Ive learnt anything, its that films are very different when translated into different languages so I cant account as to why it is so succesful here but, whatever, Im tired of talking about it now.
Tommorrow is more work so Im going to try and get an early start on it,
