31.08.2006 or "Diablos Tormente"
I barely made it home on my bike today as the heavens opened to a monster storm again. For some reason these things only come at home time but today was one of the few days I decided to brave it. Even now it sounds like chairs and desks are being moved around above the sky, it might be a dragon, they have those here right? So anyway, seems I missed a day yesterday, and for anyone who was checking I apologise. I wont lose sleep over it, much on the conterary I gained sleep over it with the time it would have taken. Life continues to continue, everything seems fine, despite a wierd sense of integration into this society which my brain seems to be fighting. I get flashes where I realise, Oh my god Im a teacher, and I have all this responsibility and I need to do all these new things.
None of these things are out of the range of my capability however, its just I realised the other day that I have never worked straight monday to friday all day before in my life. Once the panic passes I can easily get on with what I want to do and look see, here I am, finding time to write a blog and after that, maybe Im going to play some Taiko, and watch some Japanese drama and have another beer. I am relaxed and it didnt take long, I was able to come home on time, change out of my sweat drenched clothing, switch on the fan, fire up the laptop and generally set about removing any cares the day may have brought. Because of all that I can be content, which makes me very lucky.
Enjoy the calm before the storm people, or enjoy the calm whilst the storm is going on, but be calm indoors. Failing that ride out the storm and find the calm in a small wooden shack for small period whilst periodically checking on the storm to see how much damage has been done. The last option would be to accept the storm for what it is, realise that there are always going to be storms and feeling guilty about feeling calm is a futile venture. The choice is yours.
Till next time,
