22.08.2006 or "Certification"

Praise the lord after over a month of waiting my graduation certificate arrived in the mail. The final piece of the jigsaw falls into place and even though the mystery illness which is working itself through my system makes everything spin, things are looking a damned sight brighter than they were over the past two days. Today It pelted it down again tropical style, I left my bike in school and caught a lift. Feeling pretty pleased with myself we headed to SOGO for some food and Taiko. In celebration I ate terebi champion ramen from the place Im sure I have talked about before. Fueled by that Taiko came next, I played two rounds in order to wear myself out to play against my girlfriend. As a handicap I only used one stick and my left hand, what can I say, its the only thing I am good at.

During the course of the session however I noted some really wierd noises coming from my drum. It must be because it is worn out from too many games but the rim, the one than goes "ka" as apposed to "don" in the centre, seemed to keep getting stuck, resulting in a kakakakakakakakakaka machine gun tyoe noise whenever you hit certain areas. Needless to say the only one who seemed to care or notice was me. Im a little worried because I use that machine every day practically and I have never been comfortable using the right hand one. I need to either find a way to let them know or go somewhere else like Tiger City, although I wouldnt go so often because it much further away. This one was on my doorstep practically, grrrrrr. I'll just force myself to learn to use the right hand one until that breaks too.

In other news, Arcadefinger has a podcast out! I listened to it last night and found it to be most entertaining and since the promise of more now stands lets all support the young podjockey in his future efforts. It instantly made me want to do one too which is always a good thing. Day after tomorrow I fly out to Hong Kong for the weekend, going to find Andy Lau and shake him down about the whole urinal fiasco. Might also eat a bunch of expired pinapple chunks and chase after some doves in slow motion. Still haven't packed, should probably think about doing that.

Till next time,
Eat your greens,

Glad your certificate came through dude. Thanks for the high praise of the podcast, it made me chuckle. Looking forward to another one - its probably going to still be quite short, things will probably build to what I will call 'full length' over the course of a few casts.

Glad I can cheer you up when you're feeling a bit under the weather.

Dave
ps I hope your favoured left drum lasts as long as possible.
